Another payer cuts reimbursement to CRNA services-  Effective March 2, 2026, Highmark plans to reduce reimbursement for services provided by Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to 85% of the fee schedule allowance.
  • The reduction applies to providers in Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware
  • The policy bulletin which you can find below) indicates this cut is specifically aimed at QZ services (CRNA-only services performed without medical direction).
Hospitals with employed providers and anesthesia groups are encouraged to contact the Insurance Commissioner in their respective state to voice their concerns regarding this policy.
